| Following a robust three day audit, VERCO is delighted to
announce that we have been recommended to be certificated
to BS EN ISO 14001:2004. This international standard
brings a world-wide focus to the environment,
encouraging a cleaner, safer and healthier world
for us all.
BS EN ISO 14001:2004 specifies the requirements
for an environmental management system (EMS),
which provides a framework for VERCO to control
the environmental impacts of our activities, products
and services, and to continually improve our environmental
performance (It applies to those environmental
aspects which we can control and over which we
can be expected to have an influence). |

BS EN ISO 14001:2004 requires an Environmental
Policy to be in existence within the organisation,
fully supported by senior management and allows us to focus
our environmental efforts against internationally accepted
criteria and in particular stresses our ongoing commitment
to continuous improvement.
This important international standard is designed to address
the delicate balance between maintaining profitablility and
reducing any environmental impact; with the commitment of
our entire organisation, it can enable us to achieve both
objectives. |

elegance and just a hint of 'retro'.
Roma
is a beautifully designed and traditionally constructed
range of tub chairs and 2 or 3 seater sofas, contoured
for comfort and built to last. The clean curves
and lines give this range its classic identity.
Personal space is maintained even whilst sharing
the larger units by means of the serpentine back
featuring beautiful upholstery detail.
They are great around coffee tables, flexible

| Facilities
enhancements for nearly 3000 staff at Essex County
Council's HQ in Chelmsford incorporates Roma reception
seating, colour-coded to brand new corporate identity
and value statements, in restaurant and break-out
areas.
Council contract holder Bridon (Furniture At Work)
took a brief to replace under-used timber frame
seating to breakout areas on each of five floors
within the building's atrium as well as its top
floor restaurant. The company presented samples
from five providers, which were then tested by
the Council FM team. The team selected Roma for
its attributes of comfort, image and accessories
(notably writing tablets).

"We
were looking for signature furniture for informal meetings
or mobile working and Roma chairs ticked all the boxes. The
chairs look great, are comfortable to use and easy to clean
and we hope to scale out this contract for Roma seating throughout
our forty-five main offices" says building facilities manager,
Tricia Shirley.
Fraser Donaldson at Bridon adds: "Roma is a good solid chair
which we have used with great success in other locations such
as universities, health authorities and corporate clients.
It also represents good value for money." |
