Nicol Thomas Rhino Office Interiors

West Midlands architects Nicol Thomas have specified Oblique desking and storage from VERCO within a relocation and fit-out project carried out by Rhino Office Interiors for the firm’s new offices at Birmingham’s iconic Fort Dunlop development. “Rhino helped enormously in not only planning the new space but stage managing our relocation at Christmas so smoothly that we experienced only three hours downtime overall,” says Chris Gellion, a partner at the multidisciplinary practice which enjoys an established reputation with an emerging portfolio of exciting and contemporary projects.

“Oblique helps encourage the sense of space we sought, and in white finish even better complements the qualities of clarity and transparency that underpin the design ethos of the interior, helping encourage the levels of collaboration we sought of our teams.” says Chris.

Eversheds Workscape 

Law firm Eversheds has successfully blended new presentation technology into bespoke meeting furniture for its new Bridgewater Place development, Leeds' tallest building. Workscape recommended VERCO to make and supply 22 conference tables, with 25 matching cable managed credenza units, with a cut out in the tops for access to power. Tables have maple veneer tops with 110mm walnut edge band and 5mm inlays on walnut aerofoil bases.

"We felt very confident that they had the expertise and capability to meet our needs and were also prepared to be flexible to ensure that any design changes could be accommodated as our ideas developed. We chose VERCO ahead of other more prominent firms in the bespoke office furniture market and have not regretted the decision, we have been more than happy with their service and quality of product." says Eversheds FM Paul Heinicke.

Essex County Council Bridon Office Systems 

Facilities enhancements for nearly 3000 staff at Essex County Council’s HQ in Chelmsford incorporates Roma reception seating in restaurant and break-out areas. The Roma range couples traditional construction values to elegant contoured upholstery and shaped back. The retro-looking tub chair comes with matching two and three seat sofas. Personal space is maintained even whilst sharing the larger units by means of a serpentine back. Optional castors, writing tablet and under-seat shelf make Roma ideal for reception, training and break out areas such as at County Hall.

“We were looking for signature furniture for informal meetings or mobile working and Roma chairs ticked all the boxes. The chairs look great, are comfortable to use and easy to clean and we hope to scale out this contract for Roma seating throughout our forty-five main offices. Bridon and Verco responded well to our needs at all times and provided an excellent service.” says building facilities manager, Tricia Shirley.

Yes Telecom ADT Workplace 

One of the UK’s fastest-growing telecoms providers, Yes Telecom, following its relocation to new premises has installed Oblique desking within a major fit-out by Oldham-based ADT Workplace. ADT specified 200 Oblique desks in white on the strength of their practicality and cost effectiveness. Yes Telecom Head of HR, Sacha Medina acknowledges that the system has also helped meet its needs. "Oblique performs well," says Sacha. "It’s practical to work and live with, and helps make the aesthetics of a great working environment."

Stormark Streamline Office Services 

An existing client, Stormark turned to Streamline project manager, Leigh Meeks for help when the decision was taken to completely refurbish their 18th Century building rather then relocate to modern premises. Streamline and Stormark decided jointly on specifying VERCO furniture throughout the building.

Oblique desking and storage range met the specification visually and benefited from having the adaptability to circumvent installation constraints presented by a listed building. In the call centre, administration & meeting areas, Oblique desking and storage has been installed in a maple and silver finish. Clear Perspex Screen blades provide each phone room caller with sufficient privacy while third level storage and under-desk wire management trays keep desk-tops clear of clutter. VERCO’s Visual beam desking in walnut finish brings relaxed authority to management offices whilst Apollo seating was used for all desk use.

Bourne Ultimatum Parkinspace 

The latest in the eponymous and highly successful trilogy, 'The Bourne Ultimatum' stars one of Hollywood's hottest properties, Matt Damon. With the series' biggest budget to date, this critically acclaimed thriller has been lavished with the very best sets. Take the CIA 'Hub' offices, where the creepy Vosen and his fellow CIA 'spooks' monitor and manipulate our hero: that's VERCO furniture lending a supporting role.

When the production company cast for the right look for the CIA sets at Pinewood Studios, it found the ideal mix of desking, storage and seating from VERCO. Working with dealer and fit-out specialist Parkinspace, VERCO installed Corniche and Intuition furniture with Luxus and V-smart seating to the ‘executive offices’ for Vosen and Landy. Oblique was used for the ' Bull Pen' and 'Hit Room' sets. The production team was so pleased with the result, it ordered more VERCO products for the film.

De Vere Venues  

Conference and training furniture from VERCO is integral to refurbishment at a London landmark building. The work is part of a revised interior design and fit-out of training and conference facilities in the former Prudential building in Holborn Bars near Chancery Lane on behalf of new owners Alternative Hotels Group (AHG).

The facility, part of the De Vere Venue network, now offers the latest communications and conference facilities for up to 200 conference delegates in its 34 meeting rooms, 9 Syndicate Rooms and buffet-style restaurant. Harriet Forde Design specified VERCO 2-smart chairs in a special fabric for the syndicate and training rooms, complemented by walnut timber effect MFC tilt top tables and elliptical tables on silver frames. AHG's brief demanded a crisper, more contemporary look for the newly acquired venues, says designer Harriet Forde.

Seat of Learning – University of Sheffield Broadstock 

Task and operator seating from the extensive VERCO range has been specified for a striking new £23m state-of-the art learning and teaching support facility for the University of Sheffield. Designed by London architects, RMJM and project-managed by Turner & Townsend, Sheffield’s Information Commons is a six-floor structure offering over 1300 study spaces.

A £500,000 furniture specification project for the site was carried out over an eight-month period by Macclesfield-based Broadstock Office Furniture, which sourced task seating from VERCO’s Maya range. Matt Cartwright, senior architect at RMJM Architects, said: "Broadstock quickly gained an understanding of our concept for the interior and used all their marketplace expertise to present a detailed solution that’s faithful to our vision."

Harrington Brooks ADT Workplace 

A contract won by Oldham-based commercial interiors specialists ADT Workplace to provide and fit-out interiors for recently refurbished premises on behalf of debt management company Harrington Brooks includes the first commercial installation of VERCO’s new Oblique furniture system.

ADT Workplace’s David Clemetson specified Oblique for its new client on the strength of the design’s informal looks yet versatile fast-assembly capabilities.

"It’s a range with a lot of reach in application terms," says David. "With it, we can offer options of free-standing desking for administration and executive areas, full systems for the general office, as well as meeting the modern requirement for simple bench desking".

 Department for Work and Pensions  

VERCO adds to brighter branches for job seekers.
Workplace furniture provider VERCO has supplied seating to the Department of Work and Pensions’ (DWP) JobCentre Plus southern UK branches within a £750m re-design, re-brand and refurbishment programme. The company has been reported as one of the top performing suppliers to the project roll-out.

Task and visitor seating from VERCO’s Spyne range are a dominant feature of JobCentre Plus branches, which also feature reception seating from the company’s Plaza range.

In four out of the past six contract periods, VERCO has scored top marks in DWP JobCentre Plus Supplier Reports.

  GE Healthcare Bowyers Office Equipment 

GE Healthcare have been a loyal client of Bowyers Office Equipment for a number of years now, regularly utilising their expertise to manage the furniture requirements of many of their buildings.

From ergonomic seating and system furniture, to bespoke executive and conference suite solutions, VERCO have been able to assist Bowyers to provide the highest possible standard of product and service.

Bespoke conference tables such as the one pictured, have integral cable trays and management, meeting the demanding requirements of the audio visual facilities the table was designed to function with.

   Welsh Water / Thames Water Concept 4 

Call centre staff for Welsh Water chose VERCO furniture as part of a £750,000 refurbishment of the company's customer services centre at Cardiff carried out by office design specialists, Concept 4. "By the nature of their work, call centre staff have a closer relationship with furniture than most office workers," says contract centre Queue Manager, Lisa Davies. Tasked with the management of the centre refurbishment, Lisa ensured that all staff played a role in defining furniture solutions that met their specific practical and aesthetic needs.

"Users took into account every aspect of the furniture from the desk drawer sizes to the top depths as well as colours and finishes and of course easy of use, comfort and support."

   Holiday Inn Orbium 

Guests at one of England's most modern business hotels are using v-smart chairs from VERCO for PC-based work in bedrooms and suites. The Holiday Inn London Docklands - ExCel is the latest addition to the Holiday Inn portfolio of UK properties. The four-star, 210 bedroom hotel features contemporary styling to appeal to a cross-section of visitors to London.

In particular, the hotel has been designed to cater for the modern business traveller and exhibition visitor or conference delegate to the ExCel Exhibition Centre.

Complementing all the hotel bedroom desks are the v-smart high-back swivel armchairs, supplied through VERCO dealer, Orbium. The v-smart chairs were specified for their comfort, stylish looks and adjustability to differing user needs without manual adjustment.

   BT Ignite  

The data centre in Cardiff Bay is the latest addition to BT’s network of international hosting facilities. Officially opened in March 2003, the Data Centre has been described as ‘a catalyst for South Wales in terms of technology’.

The contract to provide seating to administration areas, executive offices, meeting rooms, reception areas and canteens at the Cardiff Bay centre has been met with a range of solutions from VERCO in its Apollo, Reality, Milano, Roma programmes.

Commenting on the seating contract, Steve Goodwin concludes: “We sought high standard from the outset and have achieved them.

“VERCO has won this seating contract on the strength of an excellent product portfolio that had already proven itself at BT sites near Cardiff Stadium and in Swansea.”

  Complete Learning Workplace Interiors 

An internet search for an interior design partner found Workplace Interiors in Reading, a design and fit-out provider and a dealer for VERCO furniture. “I didn’t know the company but I liked their web site, their portfolio and the fact that senior partner John Cole immediately offered to visit us and look at our occupancy requirements,” says Operations Director Jill Staddon .

Workplace got the job and set to a fast-track reworking of interiors to accommodate an administration area for the company’s 15 full-time staff (another 15 personnel are field consultants in the UK and key international territories) together with conference and training rooms.

“We looked at various options for furniture and settled on VERCO because its product design overall was stylish and modern and so complemented the building and its interior treatment.”

  Derry Building Services Sykes Office Supplies 

Derry Building Services has grown over the past 260 years under the stewardship of ten generations of the Derry family into one of the UK’s most advanced mechanical and electrical building contractors. “Growth has meant expansion and this in turn has prompted our move to larger premises,” said director James Derry.

“The Old Hospital is not only central to the town, it’s very much a part of its heritage. Preserving this historic landmark is important to a company that has been a part of Newark life as long as ours’ has.”

The project to supply and install furniture to the building - the city’s former hospital - was carried out by VERCO Office Furniture dealer, Sykes Office Supplies on behalf of Derry.
