| VERCO Office Furniture Ltd is engaged in the manufacture of
high quality chair and cabinet furniture. Our main processes
include upholstery, woodcutting, assembly and finishing.
The Company was established in 1912 and has been manufacturing
on this site since 1932.
Systems have been established to identify
all relevant environmental legislation so as to ensure
that we meet all resulting requirements. The Company
seeks to prevent pollution through a continual process
designed to identify, evaluate and where ever possible,
reduce the environmental impact of our operations on
the environment.
The Company gives consideration during the design
stage of furniture manufacture to using materials that will reduce
the environmental impact of our products throughout their life
cycle. Waste production will be reduced wherever possible and
where it is unavoidable, it will be evaluated for its re-use or
its recycling potential.
We recognise the environmental impact
of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) that are contained
in some of our processes, and we are working with the
manufacturers of such compounds to reduce their use
and their impact on the environment.
Communication on environmental matters will be
encouraged through the provision of training. Suggestions for
improved environmental performance will be encouraged. We have
identified both short and long term objectives for each of the
Company's environmental issues, through which we aim to achieve
continual environmental improvement. VERCO shall
make this environmental policy and its objectives publicly available
to any interested party upon request.
